Advent

Stasi prison December 01, 1985

1st Advent Sunday.

Our Advent wreath is ready.

Well hidden throughout the week.

Two comrades got candles smuggled in.

One in a drum of cacao powder (like I get my cash).

The other one within a candy box the guards did not open.

Pine branches are no problem.

Coming from all packages.

It smells like forest here.

Konrad’s wife packed a Christmas cake (Weihnachtsstolle).

Everyone puts their best food onto the table today.

We need to safe up however because Christmas shall be spectacular.

It’s incredible how busy you can get in here before Christmas.

Folks look for material to craft decorations.

Kids drawing are up everywhere.

We feast and tell stories into the night.

One more week in solitary tomorrow.

The cast will come off soon.
