No joke

Stasi prison December 17, 1985

Finally!

The plaster is off!

It’s been three months now.

My arm turned whitish-greenish.

The inside of the cast was rotten.

It’s about half as thick as the other.

Doctor says I’ll go back to work after New Year’s.

Ointment, light bandage: “train it”.

He ducks from my evil eye.

So, he doesn’t turn towards the same stupid giggly nurse with the same stupid, empty joke.

He remembers well and I believe there was a human in him after all.

Somewhere inside, or is it because of Christmas?

*Testimony -> Start. This blog entry is part of a linear narrated testimony of the contemporary witness Jens Thieme who was imprisoned 1985-1986 as a political prisoner in various GDR prisons by the GDR Ministry of State Security. Stasi prison, Stasi jail, Stasi detention.
