Christmas kept us busy.

It also kept us together.

Tonight is different.

Much different!

Leftovers on the table.

Locked in to the cell during the night.

Counting down the hours all day.

Wondering about the new year.

Missing family and friends.

Doubt.

Anger.

Fear.

Deadly silence all night.

Everyone staring into the walls.

Projecting our uncertainty into the distance.

This is the most depressed time in here.

Not a word spoken all night.

The clock is ticking.
