Bang!
Stasi prison January 22, 1986
Guards stuff me into the cell.
Can’t see a thing.
Bang!
Walked straight into metal bars, didn’t see them.
One officer holds me back on my collar.
I might have fainted otherwise.
There are steel bars right behind the cell door.
And another row of prison bars right behind.
In between a toilet - like a jail for poopers.
WTF?
They stuff me in all the way.
The steel cage is locked, the cell door too.
Total silence.
I have no orientation.
The whole thing is too bizarre.
There is no bed.
A bent dry well to the outside.
There is a cold breeze but no light.
Wooden boards stick out the wall as stool and tiny table.
The walls smell rotten and feel moist to the touch.
This will be my new ‘home’ for how long?
