Down there

Stasi prison January 22, 1986

Been sitting in that property room for an eternity.

Guards waiting outside.

Cuffs off.

Finally two officers get me out.

Two flights of stairs down.

Basement corridor.

You can cut the air down here.

It’s horribly cold, yet sticky and moist.

Worn down cell doors like an abandoned jail.

Old light bulbs flicker behind spiderwebs.

I’m still waiting to get beaten up.

Maybe inside the cell.

To my right the cell is unlocked.

Pitch black darkness.

A new chapter.
