Don't speak

Stasi prison January 22, 1986

Guards push me down the stairs.

I remember this area, it’s where we arrived!

Does this mean that they put me onto a transport?

Transport to where?

Could this be?

Why?

For a second the idea of a rushed release to the West crosses my mind.

But why would they do it now, on the day I refuse to work for them?

This doesn’t make any sense at all and the hope hurts.

Sure enough, we arrive at the property room where I received my clothes and linens on the first day.

Waiting for an hour with one officer on guard.

Nobody speaks a word.
